Hello doctors
Please help!
How many LORs are required to apply for Family Medicine residency?

Most programs require 3 LORs, including one from a family doctor. A handful I came across want two from FM docs.

Related useful info: You can attach a maximum of 4 LORs to your application to a particular program (and can attach different ones to different programs if you'd like). So no use getting more letters than that.
Thank you

And also, one more help please...
I am a Non US IMG graduated 2018
With Step1 212 (got results last week)
Is there any hope for me in FM?

I'm just a resident so not the best person to gauge this. If you were a US grad you would be fine with that score, I don't know whether that's still true as a non-US IMG. A strong score on Step 2 will help you out significantly and I would get that score back prior to applying. Commitment to FM is also really important, as are US clinical experience and LORs.
Am i allowed to be a member of AAFP? If so, Which membership category do i fall under if i have to apply for AAFP membership?

If you're a med student, you could be a student member. Residents can be resident members. If you're in between med school and residency, I'm not 100% sure...you should probably contact the AAFP directly to find out.

You're getting soft in your old age, Blue Dog. I half expected a LMGTFY link to be included with that.

Nah. I'd only do that for a really lazy question.

Why are you a blue dog? I am 70% sure most dogs are not blue. I'd recommend obtaining a BMP and CBC without justification to investigate further.

Can an internist(Head of Department of IM) from home country university write an LOR for FM observership/externship programs? Because in my country, there is nothing exactly like FM!
