Right now I'm planning to apply to Goucher, Bryn Mawr, and Scripps. My preferences are Goucher and Bryn Mawr. Is three enough or too much? I think that I can get into the top schools. I graduated from Brown with a degree in history and good grades (we don't have a GPA, only A/B/C, but I have 2/3 As and 1/3 Bs). I also worked as a producer for the most listened to public radio station in the states and recently completed a 6-week global health service-learning program in Cape Town, South Africa.

Thanks for the advice!

We have quite a few people from Brown at Bryn Mawr -- you'd have quite a precedent applying here. And really? No GPA? You crazy kids...

That should be enough, given what little I know about your record. But if you don't feel comfortable, you could throw Penn, Columbia, Hopkins or UVA in, as well.

roughly that is a 3.6 GPA

Sounds like you've got a good shot. I say apply early to those three. If you get in, fantastic! Your job is done & you haven't wasted time/money applying to a ton of programs. If you don't hear back within a couple of months, there is still time to apply elsewhere.

I'm applying to 8....I haven't graduated yet, so I dont know if that puts me at a disadvantage. But, I've basically applied to every post-bac in the Philadelphia area that has a linkage agreement with some medical school in the area.

With your stats I think you'd be quite competitive for Goucher/BM/Scripps, but I also agree that you should go ahead and apply to JHU, Penn, Columbia to cover your bases. I'm currently in Goucher and loving every minute of it, and we've had lots of Brown alums, including this year. That being said, post-bac admissions can often be a crapshoot, so don't limit yourself. Good luck and if you have any questions about Goucher in particular feel free to PM me.

They will just need your final grades. Alot of schools put contingencies on students that have applied but not graduated. When I applied to UVM they waited untill I graduated and even told me what to take my last semester of college, which sucked.
