I'm curious how many programs everyone applied to (or plan on applying to) in any of the specialties that go through the MATCH. It would be great to hear from both those who matched and those who did not. Does anyone feel that there is a "safe" number that may make a match more likely if you have decent stats. Do you really shoot yourself in the foot if you only apply to only a couple of programs that you are most interested in?
On a side note, do the institutions to which you apply have access to the names of the other programs you applied to as well? For example, does UCLA know if I apply to USC...
