How many programs should be sufficient for 2009 match ?

Considering IM program, as IMG how many programs should I appy for in 2009 match ? What would be a reasonable option.
1) 70
2) 90
3) 120
4) Any other number (average ? )

What locations can be most IMG friendly or least competive ?

How can I maximize my chances e.g dividng programs in locations, or certain places / location known to IMG friendly ? Please help I need few good names for IM programs.

NRMP has a publication called "Charting Outcomes" that you can download as a pdf which has some useful data, arranged by specialty, including the average number of programs people apply to and whether they get a match.

For all your specific questions, you'd probably get better answers in the IM forum.
