Hello everyone, hope you are all having a great evening. I have a 238/96 Step 1 with mostly HP and H's. My main goal is to stay within the Philadelphia area but will be applying to DC, Baltimore, NJ, NY, and Boston programs as well for safety. My questions are:

1) How many transitional/preliminary medicine year programs do you recommend?

2) Are preliminary medicine programs tougher to get into?

3) How many anesthesia programs do you recommend I apply to. I have made up my list on ERAS and would like to finalize it and have 23 so far. My goal is 15. Is this a good number?

4) Also, if you are in the Philadelphia area, which transitional/preliminary medicine programs do you recommend?
