Hey all,

I'm just curious here, how many questions did you guys miss per passage for the sciences while just doing practices? I'm not referring to AAMC FL tests, but just practice passages after each chapter. I've been on SN2ED's 4 month plan for about 2 months now and I'm just getting kind of stressed because during the science passages, I probably average missing 2. I don't get many -0s, just mostly -1, -2, and -3. I guess I'm feeling kind of bad about it because I talked to my friends who have taken the MCAT and said while just practicing, they usually only missed like 1. Would appreciate any thoughts :scared:

Well it depends what material you are studying with.

TBR will introduce new things in the passages sometimes, so its almost like you are suppose to miss those (though you could figure them out).

And its just depends on the section, theres sections where I will get 80+% and sections where I will get 50%. Helps you identify the concepts your still not clear on/need to practice more with.

I wouldn't worry about it, just try to realize your mistakes and why you made them.

It doesn't matter how many you miss on your practice passages and exams. All that matters is how many you miss on the real thing. Reviewing mistakes and figuring out what you missed and why is the key to doing well on the real thing.

I used TBR to study for the PS section and it's either hit or miss for me. When I do well I average 65-75%, sometimes close to 80%. When I bomb a passage I'll get 40-50% correct. For the average 10 passage TBR section, I might do well on 7 of the 10 passages and bomb the remaining 3.

For the passages that I bomb, I'll read the answers and try to follow the reasoning behind the solution. A week later I'll re-attempt the passage. Usually I'll have forgotten the exact answer but I'll have remember the concept or algorithm behind solving the passage problems.

Take it for what you will, I just took AAMC #3 today, my first FL exam, and I scored a 10 on PS.

I appreciate the advice guys, thanks! My mind is just trying too much to correlate practice passage success with how I'll do on FLs or the real thing. All my books except Bio are TBR, so yes, I'm glad you pointed out that they threw in some harder questions in the passages to teach you something new or what not.
