I'm just curious how everyone's cycle is going. I was complete early August and only heard back (e.g. R, hold, ii) from maybe 20% of schools I applied to. Rest are silence. I was wondering if anyone else in a similar boat waiting to hear back from the majority.

Most people are in the same boat, especially August/Sept people.
There are already a 1000 other similar threads on this topic. Invites will continue, sparsely, but many schools will take the silent route.

Some schools are so slow in r responding that there are candidates who applied, were admitted elsewhere, finished medical school, and are in their residency still waiting to hear back.

Same boat as you - only heard back from about 21%. Patience is a virtue. 🙂

Schools are required to inform applicants of acceptance and alternate status. They are under no obligation to inform applicants of any other action and many schools may never send you any final rejection letter. As I tell all applicants, everyone starts this process out as rejected

It's not just medical schools and applicants.

I'm still waiting to hear from CSU-Long Beach for when I interviewed there for a faculty job in 1999!
