  1. Pre-Health (Field Undecided)
I just recently transfered to San Diego State University with a Kinesiology major. I took this major because I am a personal trainer and this field interests me, but I cannot stand the money aspect that goes along with this field. I need to make more money...

Medicine does interest me but I dont know a terrible amount about it at this juncture in my life. I have not really taken any core science classes for my major, ( I have taken intro Chem/Bio, both were relatively easy all though did have to work hard at them). How much backtracking would i need to do to even be considered for med school? Does it really matter what major your have, or are the med school simply looking at your grades for the core science classes? What are the core science classes and how many extra classes would this entail me taking? I believe 2 semesters of general chem, 1 semester o-chem, 2 semesters physics, 2 semesters bio? Thank you in advance for your help. I dont really know what i am doing with my life right now and it is a very confusing time for me. I feel like im sinking and im just trying to figure out what i want to do with my life...and make good money doing it!

Plunk down the $25 for the MSAR. It will tell you everything you need to know. The general requirements for Med School are two semesters Bio w/ lab, two semesters Gen Chem w/ lab, two semesters O Chem w/ lab, two semesters Physics w/ lab, two semesters English, and then the MCAT.

If it's a money thing, you should really look into it. Once you factor in the years of lost earning potential at school, loans, and overhead (via malpractice) medicine isn't the golden ticket.

Go into investment banking. My friends that did that have more money then they know what to do with.

Well investment banker sounds great from a money aspect but i could not see myself doing that day in day out. I'm not even sure what it is that they do..

The thing is the human body fascinates me, I have always been interested in it. I just need to find a field that i am particularly passionate about that I can make a good living in. At one point this was PT for me, but for the amount of work that goes into obtaining ones dPT, the benefits, aka salary, are not appealing to me. Is there somewhere i can look to find various professions in the health field? I have been researching non stop, I would just like to get some more ideas...

I contacted a school and looked at their pre req's. Then took the pre-req's needed, did some shadowing, and took mcat. About as simple as that, the only thing is I am a public school teacher so taking class and working doesn't work out to well. There aren't many night classes like organic chem w lab. As a personal trainer you could schedule clients around your schedule. If dropping 150k and committing 6 years of your life to school doesn't bother you go for it.
