I think I have pretty good stats, except for the fact that I have NO dental experience. I'm planning on shadowing my dentist soon and applying for the 2004 class, but I was wondering how many hours I should shadow my dentist. How much is considered enough? THANKS!!

______________😀 😀 😀

Tufts prefers applicants who have at least 50hrs of shadowing experience. But I'm sure the avg applicant has alot more than that. (100-200hrs).

Looks like someone wanted to be a doctors in the first place. 🙂

you are very observant NDBeast.

Thanks GavinC for your advice. I guess I won't be applying to Tufts...lol. I plan on doing about a week's worth of observing (~10-12 hrs??). I just don't want to pale in comparison to the other candidates when it comes to dental experience. I worked in a cancer clinic for 18 hrs. Does the committee look at this as well? I mean it's not dental experience, but it is still considered clinical experience.
