visual and auditory systems. i know they're on the test outline, but I keep hearing they're low yield. How much did you learn/memorize about them and what are the basics? I know the structures of the eye but not much about the roles and less about the ear (I know about the tympanic membrane and semicircular canals which are responsible for balance and that's it).

In my very limited and inexperienced opinion, I would say that this is the wrong way to look at this test. I would assume every topic to be high yield, because every topic has as much likelihood as the next to be on the test. There could literally be a whole passage on the eyes or ears, and therefore the concept of a high yield/low yield topic is moot. I just recently read a thread posted by someone who reportedly got a 42, one of the mods on here "Gettheleadout". Here check his post out. I completely agree with this sentiment.

Honestly, there's really not enough material on the MCAT to justify classifying some things as low yield.
