Right now i have a 3.1 GPA in electrical engineering, and I was wondering if med schools take that i am an engineer into account and give me a little break on my GPA. So far I havent taken any premed classes really except for math physics and general chem, its my sophemore year, so will they look mostly at the premed class GPA and ignore a bad grade in something like Circuits or Computer programming?

No, they don't care about the difficulty of your degree. I was an engineer and was made painfuly aware during my (first) application process. In the minds of ADCOMs a 3.7 in art apreciation is greater than a 3.5 in quantum physics. It makes no sense and you need to just deal with it. Sorry

sadly thats true. It makes no sense but thats how it is. If majoring in something like engineering that is much harder helped you get into med school, you would see every pre med doing it 😛
