How much do residency programs influence the overall D1-D4 experience?

Is this a large factor in your decision to attend a specific school?

The schools I'm considering range from 4 to 8 specialites so I'm curious to hear what others think about this...

I am going to the Michigan because it is my state school and I am choosing it based on the expenses of it, ofcourse it is a good school. If I was going to go to other schools and had to choose I would choose a school that does not have many inhouse specialties becasue it would increase my chances of getting those patients(because I want to be GP). If I wanted to specialize it might change but it really depends on what you want out of it. My friend, current dental student, doesn't like that his complicated cases are going away to the specialties and him getting only easy ones.
