my LORs have been pending for almost 2 weeks since when I was told by the prof they sent them even though it only took 1 week after the first one was sent for that one to show up. I dunno why they are taking so long on the other 2 even though they were mailed out only shortly after the first one. ARG!

OH and my bio gpa was lower than i thought 🙁 booooo i thought that they would count a lot more of what I thought as bio sci classes. it's like 0.2 lower than my main one....i wonder what's more important or if the schools look at it with thw +/-?

They sure make a bundle off of students. I'm having trouble comprehending what it is they do to justify the fees. Verify GPAs? Put stuff in an envelope and drop it in the mail? Really, what else do they do?

frankly, I'm more annoyed that it cost $25 per school to resend my DAT scores from last year. Now THERE is something that is overpriced. How much time does it take to address some envelopes, print out the scores, maybe stamp them, stick it in an envelope and mail it? Maybe an hour for the lot?

$300 for sending out 12 pieces of paper is just too darn much.

you mean quarter pieces of paper. i made the mistake of sending a copy to myself and i was in shock...the paper was literally the size of a check. thats it...an envelope with a check sized piece of paper with some scores on it.

i'm paying $25 a school...FOR THAT?!

other than take our money from our wallets and bank accounts they take our gpas and strip them too...tell me why classes that were offered in the bio dept don't count in the bio gpa?

They misclassified two of my classes bringing my sGPA way down. At the time I thought they were nice and speedy about fixing it. But they mailed the printout with the bad sGPA on it.

The next week they mailed an update and two of my lors. But non of the schools seemed to have received these. I contacted AADSAS and they said that the schools would have to contact them in order for the lors to be resent.

The one thing nice I'll say is that every time I've emailed the AADSAS customer service, I get a response from a real person the same day.

The ADA also didn't send my DAT score to at least one school. However, the lady that helped me was SUPER nice and resent it immediately.

Argh! I added an additional school July 25 (more than a month after my original printout was sent), and it still has not gone out. Nothing has changed, except I gave them more money. Curse you, AADSAS!

I know some schools that get a high volume of applicants...like Tufts say that they cant answer any question about what they do and dont have, but theyll contact you if they are missing something. I wonder how long they actually wait for something like your DAT scores before they email u saying they havent gotten it. I would be PISSED if my app was reviewed late b/c some stupid mitake by the ADA or AADSAS.

There is no question that this will happen to a few or many of us.

Hey, so does the score report really not say the percentile and only the scores? That is what people say here, but since you have what the schools have, is that true?

That's what it says on the copy the test center gave me, "Only standard scores are reported to dental schools. Through the use of standard scores, it is possible to compare the performance of examinees taking different editions of the DAT".

The "I Hate AADSAS" threads pop up every application cycle. If AADSAS does something for the money they charge, they should consider doing a little PR to let people know what it is they get for their money.

I couldn't believe I had to spend most of a day typing my grades into AADSAS for GPA calculation even though AADSAS had copies of my transcripts. Then when I got into school, I had to order additional copies of my transcripts sent to school because AADSAS doesn't send transcripts to the schools.

I could have done my own copying and mailing and saved myself hundreds of $ if I wasn't required to go through AADSAS, and I would have needed only about an extra hour or so of work to complete the apps. Thanks a lot, AADSAS!

I think someone whose father or mother is a lawyer needs to look into starting a class action suit on behalf of everyone who has ever been forced to use AADSAS.
