Hi, everyone! I'm new to these boards. I got a call from someone who is interested in hiring me.

It's for a PT position as a RA position (I'm getting a BA next month). He asked me what kind of salary I was expecting. What should I say??? THANKS!!

Part-time? Rural or in the city? What kind of work are you going to be doing? It all depends.

It really depends like krisrox said, but anywhere from $12-17/hour. It's good to have research experience paid or otherwise on your vita or resumè.

It also depends on if it is for a private research group, or run through a hospital or university. If it is a private university (Yale, Harvard, etc) you can probably expect to start around $17/hr once you have your bachelors. Also look in to see if you would be involved in a union or not, bc that can also make a difference. If it is a public university, or company then you are probably looking more towards $14. Also, what responsibilities will you have, how much training do they have to pay may play a role in how much they are willing to pay a PT employee.

Well, I'm an RA right now and I get about 10.69/hr but I'm still an undergraduate. I do know that at UCLA, if you have your degree already, you can get about $12/hr.

I recently interviewed for some post-bac RA positions in NYC and Boston they only paid around $13-$15 an hour. If you're not in a major city I imagine it will be less.
