I'm thinking of taking Biochemistry in the Fall 2011. I'm wondering how much Biochemistry will help me on the MCAT (which I plan to take in the Spring 2012). Another words, will I better better off (1) focusing 100% on MCAT prep course, or (2) taking Biochemistry and focusing 75-80% on MCAT prep course?

Biochemistry certain does help, I took it before I started studying for MCAT.

Do you REALLY need it? No. Does it help? Yes.

I'd choose option (2). What month do you plan to take mcat?

If I did option (1), I would go all-out from Sept.-Dec. and try to take the MCAT in January 2012. But if I go with option (2), I would probably take it March-April 2012 because I want 2-3 months from January-March to focus 100% on the MCAT. What do you think about that?

If you want to take the MCAT in those earlier months then I would do option (1) because then you can finish biochem and still retake it like june/july
