how much does GPA matter

hey guys,
quick question again...i'm gonna be sending in my transcirpt to ECE to get evaluated here's my question....
in pakistan where i'm graduating from...it's pretty much a pass fail system...it doen'ts really matter how much u pass by as long as u pass you get to the next class....and getting a score over 75 out of a hundred is considered VERY good and earns a distinction award...but if a 75 is converted into the american gpa system it only comes out to a 2.5...and most of my grades have been in the high 60's which in pakistan is pretty good..like i said 75 is considered an excellent score and anything like 80 and above is very rare...will the ECE take this into consideration when making my gpa evaluation...becasue otherwise my GPA if converted like i stated is gonna come out to be like a 2.0 which sucks...any pakistanis would really be able to help me out but any other comments would be greatly appreciated....and by the way at a place like BU how much do they weigh your gpa or do teh board scores and toefl count more....thanx for the help everyone

hi rajkang,
i have a low gpa of 2.87.do you think i still have a chance in BU or UPENN.i have an interview date for BU but do they still consider ur gpa after they call u for the interview.this is really bothering me.do the schools have any minimum gpa requirements?

thanks for ur reply.i also hope they tell the minimum gpa requirements beforehand.anyway i have a part-1 score of 92 and i hope i get in.anyway thanks once again for ur reply.you r very helpful.
