I'm going to go to Christopher Newport University soon and just found out on mdapplicants.com that really no med schools in VA have accepted anyone from this school. Should I really consider going somewhere else? I mean I know it matters, but damn it seems like the same premed schools have the most acceptances.

Is it an accredited university? If so, doesn't really matter, some schools see ivys and factor that into apps but its not enough to make any real significant difference.

mdapplicants has a wee, tiny percentage of the 35,000 yearly applicants. Hardly statistically significant.

CNU's premed page has a picture of a CNU grad going to EV: http://bces.cnu.edu/prehealthprofessions.htm.

Looks like a decent school to me.

Ok cool, so know my main concern is that I took my first two years at a community college. I plan on taking my premed classes at a university and hope that my first two years don't discount me even though I currently have a 3.85. Is this a valid concern I should be having? thanx

if you take your pre-med's at the four year, you are fine... that's the most important part... I wish I did my first two years at a comm college now, instead of 5 years at a GPA pounder
