I think that this could be helpful to those applying soon. How much have you spent on trying to get in? This means everything: MCAT classes, airfare, the new suit, secondaries, anything that you can think of other than undergrad tuition.

For me:
MCAT prep materials: @$250
AMCAS app: $505 for 13 schools
Secondaries: $550
New suit/shoes: $500
MCAT registration: $125? (I think, I took the test in 2000)
Airfare/hotel for inteviews: $500
Postage: @$20

TOTAL: $2450

I think that's about it for me. I only went on one out of state interview and did not take an MCAT class.

If this catches on, I will try to come back every 5/10 posts and figure an average. Maybe someone a little more stats savvy than me can figure out the standard deviation, etc.

Hmm... let's see. Since I applied 3 times, I sent in AMCAS primaries 3 times, but didn't get any interviews (hehe... oops), and didn't send in too many secondaries (oops again)
