I'm in need of some help here everybody. I'm a long time lurker and decided to finally make an account for this question. I'm taking step 1 in 28 days. I just finished my first pass through FA and pathoma. I've got about half of RX done (estimates a 221) and I just started Uworld (average 54%). I want to go into neurology so my goal for the test is around 215-220 if possible.

So I took my first practice test this last weekend, nbme 13, and got smacked real good, 194. The test seemed to hit on all of my weaknesses and I am pretty bummed out. I started my 2nd pass of FA today and I'm really going to go slowly over my weaknesses this week and I'm taking another test this weekend. I'm going to be doing around 80 Uworld questions with review daily. Frankly I think I've spent this time memorizing too many buzzwords and not enough time on in depth molecular stuff, at least from my results on NBME 13 that seems to be the case. So I'm literally memorizing every single word in first aid now. Working through pathoma again as well.

Do you guys think I can bump up my score from 194 to anywhere in the vicinity of 210-220 with 4 weeks? All I've been doing is studying for the last 3 weeks or so and I don't feel like I can give any more effort than I am, but maybe I can study a bit smarter from here on out.

Thanks for your opinion. I've been concentrating on uworld a lot and I noticed that if I really focus myself, I can average in the 60-70% range on most of my tests in the last few days. Hopefully that is a good sign

Anybody else have input? Thank you

How did you get Rx to give you a score estimate? I've done a little over 50% and it still says insufficient data.

Just took another test yesterday and got a 215. I'm pumped but not too sure of what to make of it. Maybe I just didn't take the 1st test as seriously as the 215 more reflects my uworld and rx averages

Good for you man. Maybe the first was a fluke. Don't disregard it though. Make sure you go back through both and know what you missed and why.
