I was shocked this morning when I checked my bank balance. The balance is way too low than I imagined. I start to think... what the hell?? How did I spend all those money? 😕 I kept thinking and thinking and finally realized that I spend almost 3000 dollars for applying pharmacy schoolS. My god.. 3000 dollars.. I cannot believe my calculator display. 😱 By the way, 3000 includes pharmcas, pcat, airline ticket, hotel and deposit and anything related to pharmacy school application.

Just wondering, how much money have you guys spent? It will really help me to pull me out from the "guilty pool". :meanie:

Thanks~~

That is a lot of money. Wow.

I probably spent around 300 dollars after all was said and done. probably between 300-400 including pcat study guides. I only took the pcat once and only applied to one school which i go to already so i didnt have to travel.

I think I've totalled around $350. Pharmcas ~150, Supplamentals ~200. Then there's the $500 I had to pay to reserve a seat at Western b/c I got accepted there really early, plus the $500 to USC but thankfully that is put towards tuition when we start.

I am very lucky to have parents that have paid all this for me + my undergraduate education. It was their decision when they had us 3 kids that they would put us thru college. The same thing I will do for my kids. I'm on my own starting now though 👍

🙁 I don't even wanna know.

My breakdown:

Apply 10 schools
Interview at 4 schools
Flew to all of them (Some free via Southwest, thank you God)
Only had to pay for one deposit (Great timing)

I'm thinking close to OP though. *sigh*

I can feel you. I did not know that I spent that much until this morning. I was too bored at work, so I started to check my bank statement, credit card statement.... Then I realize I spent 3000 dollars... Now I can understand why there is only 358.20 in my banking account~~~~ 😡

I regret... I should not check it in the first place!!! then I would not feel sad now... 🙁 I DON'T WANNA KNOW NOW!!!

I had four free flights (2 roundtrips). Frequent flyer miles. Basically I flew a lot last year... =P

i see! well you're still lucky that you got that break!! i, also, spent a fortune on applying to 10 schools. still waiting to hear from the majority of them... so far, $1500 sounds about right. 🙁

That's alright though. Money well spent IMHO. =)

I call my approach, the shot gun approach. =P

probably close to $1500

let's see...

pharmcas: $350
supplementary: $300
deposit for western: $500
paid someone to correct my essay: $150

thank god i got western's acceptance before out of states, so i decided to forfeit all those interviews (even if they were a better school, my preference is still to live at home while i'm in pharm school)... but my last word is still, i hope usc will consider me... hahahaha 😛

so total to about $1300 (if i dun start counting gas money and all... )

First year application costs: ~$500
Second year application costs: ~$1,000
Nice suit: ~$200
First interview (gas costs, hotel, food): ~$150

Same here. But when all is said and done...pharmacy school is an investment...chances are you're going to have a professional career! PLUS, it's a good idea to check out the schools you'll be spending your next 3-4 years at. Yes, it's a lot of money, but in retrospect, it'll be pocket change 😉

... I hope I never see $3000 as pocket change... Dang... I can't handle that much money nor do I think I'd want to... =)

Can only serve on master, you know. =)
