how much notice for in the area emails?

hey all,

a couple q's about in the area emails:

how long in advance should you send it? if i'll be there first week of feb, should i send it now? also, is it okay to send a combined update/in the area or do schools typically like their in the area emails short and to the point (and i should send in a separate update)?

I remember sending in the area emails about 1 month or so before my interview in that area. My in the area email only worked at 1 school, but I'll take what I can get!

I think it's probably fine to send a combined email if the school accepts updates. It's less work for their staff to pull your file once and add two things to it.
