How much of a disadvantage am I at for not having an HPAC letter?

At my undergrad school, the HPAC would help us only if we stuck to either DO or MD, not both. So I thought, okay, that's ridiculous and received three excellent individual LORs from: a professor, my supervisor (A P.I. of the lab I worked in), and my faculty mentor. Therefore, I'm just using Interfolio.

As great as they are I still feel adcoms will erroneous think: "Wow, this student is not a team player. Look at this poor excuse of an attempt to please us with these measly individual letters! Where's his committee packet letter! And how does he not have a 99.9% mcat score!!"

:/

Aw crap, looks like I have to send U of M a written letter now. Will they even accept that in part of my application? 😕

I'm planning to just not apply there. I don't think it's worth the money and trouble.

Yeah might be a good money saving idea. Even if I send in a letter, I doubt they ever considered a reason why to accept it, regardless if the letter is the best damn letter explanation why.

Just tell them your only applying MD get the letter, submit it, then apply to all the DO schools you want with just the other 3 letters.

Play the game!
