how much of robbins review of path did u get right?

I just started doing a chapter of robbins review of path (rbc/bleeding) after some review of the material from review books. I look up the answers immediately after each q...probably get like 40% right. what kinda numbers did u have? and what's an effective strategy for learning the material from that book? i probably spent 3 hrs on the 50 questions.

u might wanna do the questions in webpath too. That will help u get a much better score. I score anywhere from 70-92% on robbins. But i save them for last. I try to learn the material first, and webpath, then do robbins. But i also put the most time into path, and not that much into ICM, pharm or micro.

PS- why not try do all the questions first and then going over the answers?? its alot faster that way.

I think it is more productive if I read the chapter first, and then do the questions. I think I learn more this way, and it is often a good style of writing, depending on the chapter's author. After reading the chapter, you can breeze right through the questions in half an hour. I still end up missing or guessing on some questions though.

varies wildly. on leukemias i got 50%, on neuro i got 90+%, on blood around 70%. way too early to get hung up on percentages. just make sure you learn something from each question.

hey Idiopathic, is Robbins something I should look into, or can I stick with the Kaplan q-bank and Popi's notes/questions?

Robbins review is about the closest thing to the USMLE that is published (more realistic than QBank even). All bets are off for COMLEX, however, so just try and learn the material...ALL the material 😉

I thought the Robbins book was a big help.

I'll 2nd robbin path review as being a good resource. Lots of good questions in there. I did the questions after i had studied the apropriate section. Scored anywhere from 78%-92% on them.

This is an excellent source of review and consolidation. Its best if you read the corresponding chapters in BRS and then do the robbins and also if its your last thing to do. Scored anywhere from 84-100%.

Robbins Review of Path. is fantastic. I got ~ 85% or so correct. It is a great teaching tool for courses and the real exam!

Some of the chapters are really easy, and some are ridiculous (WBC path), so your score will vary from chapter to chapter.

I'm in dip doo doo averaging under 70%, all of the people who rocked step 1 last year seem to been getting above 80%.

so robbins review tests material from the Robins text. I've been doing the questions all year long to supplement the course. It is unrealistic to expect to do well on it if you dont read the text. I recommend skimming morphology/clinical sections of the chapters in baby robbins prior to doing the questions. With that strategy i've been getting 80% on first go and 90-95% on second round before the block exams. I'll be redoing these questions for a third round in preparation for the boards in order to refresh my memory.

Hey, Idiopath, quick Q. Would you recommend doing Robbins Review w 1 month to go. Im afraid is to detailed, plus I m doing Q bank too. Just trying to prioritize. any input is welcome. thanks.
