How much time is spent looking at computer monitors for IR? I am quite concerned since I am already fairly myopic (-6 or so). Is it a lot like diagnostic radiology or is it not too much like FM?

Your question implies that you don't know anything about IR. First shadow an IR doctor to see what the field is about.
