I'm curious as to how much individual school awards will help an application. I recently won an award given out by my university to usually three people annually. In order to win, one must be nominated by your peers, and then selected from a pool. I don't know, but I suspect only about 10 or so people actually get nominated.

Here is a description of the award: This award is presented to undergraduate and graduate students who have created positive change within a student organization, living group, dorm, or team. Recipients will have shown dedication to his or her group and enhancing the campus environment, as well as an ability to overcome challenges.

Another award I'm up for is similar, but given to fewer students: They are the highest awards presented by the Institute to students and student organizations in recognition of excellent achievements in citizenship and devotion to the welfare of ____. They reflect outstanding contributions to the ___ community as a whole, sustained over a significant number of years.

How much will these awards benefit my application? Is it possible to quantitate them in terms of GPA or MCAT points? How would such an award compare to more well-known awards, like the Goldwater? Since I have to be nominated by my peers, and selection is based solely off of their LORs, does that lower the prestige of such awards? I guess I just want to know if I'm naive for thinking these will substantially benefit my application.

Not by much.

Is it possible to quantitate them in terms of GPA or MCAT points?

No.

How would such an award compare to more well-known awards, like the Goldwater?

It would hold less weight.

Since I have to be nominated by my peers, and selection is based solely off of their LORs, does that lower the prestige of such awards? I guess I just want to know if I'm naive for thinking these will substantially benefit my application.

What matters more is what you did to earn these awards rather than the awards themselves. I assume because you are in the running for these awards, you must have done some community service work or whatever. It's the work itself that's important, not the awards. The awards would just be a nice little cherry on top of a productive activity.

If you're thinking along the lines of the LizzyM score equivalent of your award, it's impossible as every school will put a different emphasis on ECs, awards, research, etc.

I don't think you should dwell too much on exactly how much those awards will benefit your application. You should just be aware that they WILL definitely boost your application in that they aren't your run-of-the-mill "Dean's List"-type awards. They represent your dedication and commitment to whatever it was that you chose to pursue, and make you stand out from your peers.

Whatever it is that you did to deserve the award will help you more than the award itself.
