Was wondering about this. Epocrates can be used on your iPhone / Pre or Pixi / Android phone / etc., but seeing as how it can also be used on the nearest handy computer, how often do you actually whip out your phone in practice to use it (or any other medical app) as opposed to simply sitting down at a workstation to do your thing?

M2 in August, so I haven't quite gotten "there" yet.

I don't keep count, but a LOT. Plus I have electronic versions of some of the popular pocket sized resources a lot of folks carry, so I'm definitely in and out of my iphone constantly.

You will not always have easy/quick access to a terminal. If I'm walking down the hallway and need to look something I can get to in seconds, as opposed to finding an open terminal, logging in, finding the link to whatever service/resource I want, logging in again, etc...

And if you're on rounds it's hard to discretely look something up if you have to get up and use a computer. 😀

Many many times per day. I can't seem to be able to remember the different dosages for a drug 😕

I use Clinical Pharmacology Mobile and I think it's great. It's very easy to use and so accessible when I really need it.

Unfortunately my school is no longer offering Essentials for free. I need to switch to something else or pay for it.

Do they offer Dynamed?

My school never had subscriptions to Epocrates but did give us access to Dynamed subscriptions (available through Skyscape). Pretty extensive database and info.

Medscape is free and though I haven't used it much seems to operate/look much like Eprocrates. But includes Drugs, diseases, and procedures for free.
