I never eat out. Recovering from anorexia, I like to be in control of my own food. The takeout food is just horrible for you.

*obligatory sex joke*

When I don't have enough food in my pack lunch I get Burger King. Onion Rings, 4 piece nugget, and Jr. Whopper has something like 800 Calories and only costs $3.00+tax. As for going to 'real' restaurants, I don't have a job so not enough money

Unless I'm out on a date or w/ some friends on a special occasion, eating out is a waste of money. I like myself some Trader Joe's microwave meals.

Just got this

I cook a lot, so I really only go out when friends are going or if I have a craving for something I can't make easily (like Indian). I'll go with 1-2.

It depends on what you mean by eating out. I rarely sit down anywhere, but I often need to grab a sandwich or something because A) I'm always really hungry after classes get out around 1:30, and B) I don't drive, so it takes a while to get home, and I walk by a lot of sandwich places.

I hate to break the bad news Al, but Christmas is over (referring to your avatar).

Well shiiit, according to this, I practically need to eat out for every meal. I lied, that's not true. I can cook/like cooking breakfast food. And yes, I will eat bacon, eggs, and waffles for dinner occasionally. I'll add OJ to top it off too.

Also, I think only Indian people can make good Indian food. That's just the way it works with them. No exceptions.

I eat at school's cafeteria. I choose healthy food to eat everyday. I eat a lot of veges and fish. I try cut salt and meat. I don't really have time to cook. I just calculated that it only averages $3.00 per meal for my meal plan.

I spend 100s on Chipotle every month. I just can't stop, I swear on my first-born child's life that there is some addictive ingredient in there.

I didn't think of food when I read the title.

Rarely ever, unless you count Subway and McDonald's.

How often do you guys/gals eat out every week?
Anything from fast food at lunch to a nice place for dinner - simply buying food out instead of cooking it.

That depends. During the semester, I usually eat lunch at school, but otherwise, the closest we come to eating out is ordering pizza or Indian food.

You're one of those patients that claims to have no history of familial chronic diseases despite having 12 aunts/uncles, both parents, and 7 siblings with amputated feet due to diabetes, I'm guessing. 😛

Correct.😀

I selected 1-2 times a week but its usually more somewhere between 2-3 times a month.

Rarely. I work and still have barely any money to do anything, hate being broke

omg I know what you mean. I can't stay away from their veggie burritos. I think it's the rice. all that lemony goodness...mmmm xd

when I started dating my bf, we used to go out all the time. it's gotten better now. after a while everything starts tasting the same IMO.

I wonder who are the extremists like me =)

Don't feel left out. In most cases, eating out is actually cheaper than buying a meal plan at one of the university cafes. $10/meal vs $5-7 at subway or chipotle? Still ends up saving time and money in the end.

It's kind of hard to eat right when you are in college. Even though there are a lot of good choices available, i just can't really give into that when you have dollar beers and pizza waiting for you. 😀

They just built a Chipotle on Campus Corner, I've eaten there 3 times out of 4 days. For winter welcome week, they gave out free burritos, and it was a madhouse!

I try to eat out no more than twice a week (and that includes hitting fast food joints to supplement my meals). I like to cook and try new recipes (I make a mean pork chile rojo), and I have nothing against leftovers and frozen foods. The only things I go out for are specialties (like Caribbean and Indian). I'm even thinking of making my own Thai food since my favorite restaurant fell off their game last time I went.

I eat out about 14 times a week :scared: I should really cut down some...

I used to eat out so much more often, but now I realise that I am so poor, so even when I am starving when I'm outside, I wait until I get back home:scared::scared:

I don't really have good, regular access to a kitchen that's all mine (dorm kitchens are a mess), so basically all my meals are eaten "out" - whether it's at the dining halls, fast food, etc.

I can't wait to get an apartment so I can eat real food, because I actually love to cook.

I rarely (if ever) eat out. When I worked at my old hospital I got freebee government food so I had no real need to waste money unless I craved a local specialty like pig head tacos or tepache (a sort of alcoholic drink that tastes like beer with pineapple juice) which the cafeteria for obvious reasons doesn't serve.

I'm sorry, what? Where are you? 😕

Wow. I must be terrible. I allocate the majority of my fun spending money to dinner and drinks. I'd say I probably go drinking at a bar 4 times a week (2x on weekends, 2x during the week). I go out to sit-down dinner 3 times a week (Friday & Saturday and one weeknight). Plus I buy lunch about 4 days a week. This has gotten worse since getting a SO with a high income who's also a crazy, crazy, closet alcoholic.

story of my life quoted above. but I have started to try to cook more at home. its just that I get bored of eating the same thing day in and day out.

Try allrecipes.com.

This will make me sound like a dumb couch-potato, but the thing I hate about cooking is that there are too many ingredients involved. I want to try a new recipe? I have to go buy like 5 new things I don't have yet. Seriously, when is the next time I'm going to use paprika or rosemary? It's always the spices...

Dorm food. It's like eating out in the sense that it isn't home food, but it isn't eating out since it has taken the place of home food while at school...
