All schools have minor differences in requirements especially for classes and letters of recommendations. I was wondering how picky the schools really are. Do schools tend to forgive a psych class if it was not taken or if you only have 2 LOR from science professors if they require 3? Please post your experiences.

Thanks

Call the schools and ask them them. Some schools are not going to accept you without all the requirment classes and send 3 rec letter that makes your application more interesting.

I had pass failed the second semester of orgo, and contacted all the schools i was thinking of applying to, most had no problems because of my record. Only a couple of schools said I need to take it over.

Because these requirements are set by each dental school, if you fail to complete their requirements they will put you on hold until you have fulfilled those requirements (esp. missing required LORs).

hey hoffa....well obviously, it all depends on the school, but in my experience, Tufts has really strict requirements...they needed one LOR from a bio prof, but i didnt have one....I got an interview anyways, but at the interview, they pulled me aside and told me I still needed that letter.

Anyways, I knew I wasnt going to Tufts so I never bothered to get the letter, but eventually, I did get a letter of acceptence without the bio LOR

same thing happened to me. didn't give them one of the LOR's they requested and was pulled aside at interview. never got the LOR in and still got accepted. of course always play it safe and do what they tell you if you can. i was just lazy and knew i probably wouldn't go to tufts.
