Is it worth knowing every small detail in the Biology AP Cliffs or other AP books? Ex. Plants

Like what were your questions like on the DAT? The most random one.

I would know the very basics within the plant chapters, but that is it. Nothing more. Understanding everything within genetics and cell biology is way more important.....

Random questions will be random, but they are not impossible....as long as you study broad...

For ecology, learn the terminologies.
Plant - know photosynthesis ( how many molecules are used to make what number of molecules 2)
In my test version, the test covered pretty much every topic, yet the questions were basic.

i would say know the topics broadly, no need to go into too much detail. I know this sounds like a vague answer but usually dat questions for bio do not test too much detail. but knowing and understanding the topics will help you answer the questions.

They list the subjects that they are going to ask you, but it seems random b/c there are so many topics which you can drive yourself nuts going into too much detail. and when you prepare you self with too much detail for certain topics and do not spend enough time on others it will seem random. But mostly it will feel random but with enough preparation and practice you will be able to answer them with ease.

I took my test today and I must say that they either changed the test format or I just haven't studied hard enough. I studied all the basics and knew them for sure because I had about 1400 flashcards that I went through every day and did bio destroyer. Of course I did cliffs 3x but the test questions were very application based. It wasn't so much as.. "Which is involved in mitosis....a. MTOC, b. etc..." but more like if this person had x then how would it affect this and that....etc..I took the DAT 3x and I got 21 and 22 but the 3rd one i got a 17. I thought they came up with a new test or something because it wasn't like this before. But if you put the time into getting the basics...you will be in good shape!
