How schools order interviews?

How do schools order their interviews? For example..a June application gets an interview before a September application?
Or are interviews sent out based on stats?

I just decided in Oct to add Tufts as one of my schools, so should I be expecting an interview pre-Dec....or should I expect one in like February since its late??

When I interviewed at UConn a few years back, the dean told me that most east coast schools know by the end of November who they want for their incoming class. It's only the west coast schools that take a little while longer to select their incoming class. If you apply now, you'll either be too late or be catching the tail end of the remaining available spots. But there are many factors in determining whether you get and interview or not at this late date. I would say you're chances are okay because Tufts is a private school. And because of the high tuition, it is probably not the first choice for many applicants and so some first round applicants may probably turn down an interview which would give you a chance. But seeing that dental admissions will get super competitive due to the crappy economy, some applicants may not turn down the interview. Either case, I think you may be looking at a late interview date. But if you get an early one, good luck. Just my opinion based on my experiences. When I applied to dental school, I applied to 44 programs and interviewed at 36 of them before running out of money. That should give you an idea of how crazy I was. Hope this helps.
