How significant is it to take OAT early and apply early?

I started studying for OAT a week ago, but I'm not sure if I'll be completely ready to take it in mid-August (which is when I initially hoped to take the OAT). I was planning to wait until at least early November to send in my applications, at the latest in mid-December (because I want to have enough shadowing experience and have enough time to get the letters of rec done). I want to apply to ICO, SUNY, NECO, and maybe a few more. I have 3.5 GPA, 3.23 science.

Would you recommend that I get OAT done with in mid-August or wait until October to take it? When is everyone taking the OAT?

Also, how detrimental is it to apply early? I know it's rolling admission, but would November/December be way too late? I want to be safe, but I don't want to rush either.

I just started studying like 4 days ago! I wanted to apply to Midwestern, SCCO, and ICO and am wondering the same thing. I wanted to take the around Late August - September. I called Midwestern and the admissions lady told me that last year they capped out applicants in February, there due date is by April. Although she didn't sound sure and I planned on finding out all of this too.

I'll be sticking on this post to hear peoples' answers and I wish you good luck on your studies!

Your GPA is solid. I really REALLY would stick to August for the OAT. Just push through and don't waste time in regards to studying. Interview invitations are sent out August/September along with acceptances usually a week later. With each passing week, there becomes less and less seats available for YOU, and thus less chance. If you want to be safe, push through the next 2 months or so in studying for the OAT, getting shadowing hours and getting those letters of rec sent. I managed to take care of all 3 last summer in a 3 month window. So can you!
