How soon can I expect to hear from programs for Interviews?

Hello all,

This has probably been answered before but I have no idea how I would search for it without writing out the whole sentence "when can i expect to hear from....." . So please dont flame me...

Ok, So my specific questions are:

1. If I applied to programs this AM (i.e. paid with CC today), how long until I hear from programs on average? 1-2 days, 1-2 weeks, 1-2 months?
2. If they do not want you, do they send you a no thank you email?
3. Is there a way to tell if your information has been "downloaded" by any of your prospective schools? (if so, how please?)

1. Some programs will thank you soon after they download your application but the majority do not. Regarding interviews it will depend on the program and the applicant
2. They do officially reject you for interviews but I think that happens much much later in the process.
3. Play around in eras a little, look at the track applications tab

Search for the 2007 Interview Invites thread as it lists the dates interview offers have arrived last year. Early trends so far this year appear to match the time lines seen in the past. There seems to be a lot of variability amongst the programs as some offer early and some late no matter the applicant qualifications. Bottom line: Don't stress out if you don't hear anything yet.
