Does anyone know soon I can have my letter writers upload their letters to the AMCAS letter writer application? My school doesn't have a letter service anymore so I don't want to ask for letters too early.

Buy an Interfolio account. Two years is $30, I think.

You cannot upload letters to AMCAS till May of your application cycle. You can use interfolio, but some schools require letters to be less than a year old. Baylor COM comes to mind for this.

Wow, not till May?

Around when do you guys suggest I ask for the letters then? I'm thinking March-ish?

Cause that's when AMCAS opens. AMCAS does not store letters from year to year. I would say get an interfolio account in march of your application year, have professors load them to there, and then send them to AMCAS through interfolio. No need to start a year in advance.

Edit: thought that said Why, not wow...

You can start whenever you want, but professors cannot upload till May of your application year. They can submit to interfolio whenever.

Oh ok. I just looked up interfolio. It sounds like the best option because I want to have my letters ready months in advance. Thanks!
