Hi,

I am curious when programs usually start interviewing and when the earliest anyone has interviewed in the past.

I sent out my apps on sept 1 in the hopes of getting some early interviews.

Responses would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!

Its funny, my PD was telling me that we just started getting in applications, but they're mostly from DOs and FMGs who are trying to get a jump on the interviews....

I started getting interview invites around October...maybe it was late September. I think by the end of October I had ~ 5-6 interview offers... the vast majority came in November for me.

Interview season is pretty set in stone. The earliest one I had was Christiana in DE and that was the monday after Thanksgiving. All but two of my invites came after Nov 7. and a couple came in during Dec.

Yeah, same here. I remember being frustrated in October because FM and the other specialty applicants had 5-6 interviews and I had none. Fortunately I was doing an EM elective with other EM applicants and none of us had interview invitations. November is when the majority start coming. I got my last invitation in late December and scheduled my last interview for Feb 6th. Relax and enjoy yer 4th year. Good luck with EM.

As I remember, it was about the same time. Programs may do a first cut pretty early on, or you may not hear until the final cut in Deamber or January. I think some folks are still waiting to hear from some programs from the 2002 match. 😀
