How the rest of the world views certain specialties... In a Flowchart!

Lol Ophthalmologists afraid of the dark? Disagree! They go from one dark exam room to the next

I'd say EM is pretty accurate from the EM doctors I've shadowed

opthalmology turns the lights off for many exams....guess that makes them NOT afraid of the dark? haha

Plus I like how no hard working equals:
Derm + Rad + Opth

...i wish

and that pediatricians and GPs are more hard working than dermatologists, radiologists and ophthalmologists. As far as med school goes that's def not true

I'm sure I've seen someone with this same flowchart as their avatar.

Surely. It has been passed around for at least 6 years.

Nonsense, it's clearly new because I just introduced SDN to it. Any statements to the contrary are invalid.

At the very least, I've never seen it before. It's good to bring old things back so new generations can enjoy them (hence the star wars reboot/new trilogy thing).

Granted, I was in preschool when Phantom Menace came out, so maybe I'm not the target audience there.

OH, for a second there I thought you meant they were remaking the original three. Got me excited there.

And to think anybody ever argued "Oh no, not ALL doctors are nerds..."
😳. But really, what I love about star wars is really the fighting scenes. I feel like the first series needs to be updated mainly on that premise. The story is good, but the fight scenes lacked. Also Yoda was a frickin' puppet for goodness sake. 😡

We had the first three movies on VHS... Which I have no idea how to use. There were DVDs by the time I was playing my own movies. Thank FSM that working a VCR not a useful skill I missed.

Took me a while to get this. But I actually miss using VHS, and I am not even that old. I remember the first thing I watched was a recorded episode of Barney and Friends

You could record stuff on VHS? I know you could with video cameras, but actual tv shows?

DVD rentals surpassed VHS rentals for the first time in summer 2003... So just how old are you? 😛 Do we have another Doogie on our hands?

NONONONONONONONONONONO. DO NOT CALL ME DOOGIE. My hatred for that show surpasses my love of NPH. I'm sixteen though. Hi.

I didn't watch many movies after I started school in 2000, so that's probably why I don't remember making the switch. As I recall, I had quite the collection of Disney princess movies on VHS. I just apparently forgot how to work a VCR.

Damn, why? Doogie was my homeboy.

You try getting compared to a nerdy, maladjusted television character of the opposite gender for your entire life and see how you like it. *fumes*

I don't likey the Doogie.

Haha, well everyone called me Doogie, too. But I didn't have the gender-bending issue.

Srs? :wow:

Holy crap I feel old.

Same. Damn.

Oh shut up. 😳

I HAVE AN EXCUSE! I was born in '95 for goodness sake- I was only fully sentient last decade. My father was not amused when he had to teach me how to use a rotary phone, however.

My desired specialty is designated as "fake doctor", how discouraging. 🙁

perhaps it's better than being a "overworked bitch goddess"... hmmm.. maybe it's time to reconsider

I completely missed that one . My entire family hates the idea of me being a psychiatrist. "why can't you be a real doctor like your cousin (forgot what specialty he is)."

Hey guys I found this HILARIOUS NEW MEME

Christ, it's a flowchart someone made and posted on the internet....not this month's issue of NEJM--ease up.
