I've been pursuing a career in internal medicine for several years. It was not a easy choice but I like to think I made the right decision. Though I like many aspects of IM, one thing I realize I can't achieve 'flow'. I don't get so immersed in my training that I lose track of time. I have to force myself, especially when I try to study.
I've read the book 'Flow' by
Mihaly Csikszentmihaly. And I feel for my overall happiness and fulfillment in life, it is important to have flow in what I do.

What are the things I can do to achieve flow?
How to have flow when I'm studying?

Be sure to allow time everyday for non-medicine activities, doesn't have to be long. It could be exercise, meditation, Netflixing, spending time with your family, etc... but definitely allow some time to decompress from the work.
