How to Become a Pharmacy Manager

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
But I don't WANT to go to medical school 🙁

Wow! Not sure how to respond here. I especially like this quote:

The challenging part of becoming a pharmacy manager is to get through medical school successfully and within a reasonable amount of time.

I don't know what planet they are from but who goes to medical school to specialize in pharmacology in order to become a practicing pharmacist?😕

So anybody can post any kind of craps on ehow.com using a random account names? That sure make this website as informative as the homeless man wandering in front of my store preaching about the end of the world.

I am going to open an ehow.com account and post an article on how to post craps on ehow.com now.

I actually saw someone on here post that they had that degree. I forget what country they were from. I want to say India, but I'm not 100 percent sure.

However, I don't think there's Walgreens in India.

Yeah that article is a complete joke! Also, I noticed someone commented on the bottom of it saying this " One does NOT get a BS as an undergrad and then go to medical school; one applies to a PHARMACY school directly out of high school and earns their PharmD".... Ummm, wtf? Maybe that person's referring to those schools that offer the 2+4 programs, but the majority require a 4 year degree out of college before applying to a 3 or 4 year pharmacy school...I guess some people just cant do some simple research..

Oh and just to add, they wrote this too.. "They are overworked, putting in 14 hour days." Really, since when?... Walgreen's pharmacists never work 14 hr shifts either, at least not in my area or any area I was told about...Fail!

I wish I had known that I would have to go to med school before I started Pharmacy School.

But seriously, great article all around. I didn't know eHow is a comedy site, I enjoyed that more than most Onion articles.

They kiss the a** of the store manager until they can become a store manager that, in turn, will net them a Ass. Manager to do the same for them.

I kid.

(not really)

Nice informative article! Everyone knows you become a retail pharmacy manager by being dumb enough to accept the job when they ask.

I think that person is referring to 0-6 programs. Although a lot of people have 4 year degrees I don't know how many schools actually require it to apply...but point taken, that person is only somewhat informed on the topic.

Overall hilarious article though

What are the perks to moving to management? Are there any? If the pay bump wasn't over 20k then I don't see the point.

Wait! So you guys are saying you don't have to go to med school to be a pharmacy manager at walgreens? I am in my second year in med school specializing in pharmacology, and I am working as a tech at walgreens. Can I sue ehow.com? 😱
