How should I go about canceling an interview? Should I send an email and smail mail? Do I have to give a reason as to why I am canceling the interview and withdrawing my application? Thanks for the help

I have used e-mail to withdraw all the apps I needed to withdraw (except for Stanford, which requires snail mail). I would suggest canceling interviews using whatever medium you scheduled them with (usually phone or email). Keep emails short and simple.

Dear Admissions Committee:

I am writing to cancel my interview scheduled for 1/15 and to withdraw my application from school X. Thank you for your consideration, and Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
Applicant

hey, I just used email and followed up with a phone call 2 days later. they're alright with it and don't feel like it's a bad thing. you gotta do what you gotta do. just makesure you write in the email that your appreciate the opportunity to apply. gluck

I called to cancel all of mine so that the schools could find people to replace me. Each school also requested that I submit a letter so that they could have a paper copy.

don't show up and reschedule.

Repeat till May.
