How to choose safety schools with great stats?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Its hard to determine what is a safety but i'd say you could apply to Jefferson, all the schools in NYC and have a good surrounding environment. I wouldnt call NYU or Mount Sinai safety schools by any measure of the word but just apply to some lower level schools in cities you like.

I agree with Jelly. None will be safeties per se, but just pick some schools in cities you like. The more you apply to the better your chances (but I'm betting you're definitely getting into some CA schools). Based on the cities you're applying to schools in already, consider adding Tufts, Jefferson, MSSM, Albert Einstein, NYU and SLU. If you're open to Chicago, add Northwestern and Pritzker (not sure if your stats are too high for Loyola and Rush, but it's possible). Also check out Vandy, Emory and Baylor.

Agree with above posters except -- Northwestern is a safety school???

I didn't say they would all be safeties. I was mainly just suggesting schools that I thought they'd have a good chance at and would like, and throwing some possible safeties in as well. The more schools you apply to, the better your odds. And with those stats, any school is fair game. Although I would fear that the OP's stats are so high that it would be hard to call any safety school a safety. Many safeties may be reticent to waste an interview slot on someone with such clearly stellar stats since they'll figure that the OP would never actually matriculate at their school. That's the pickle.

Dude, this is EXACTLY my worry - I fear that the ivies will think of me as just another 35+ high GPA candidate while the "safeties" and more middle of the road medical schools will brush away my application thinking that I will most likely obtain an ivy/CA admission offer.

I want to thank all of you who replied to this thread, it means a lot to me. If there are any other schools that you guys would like to recommend (specifically those in laid-back cities, i.e not new york) I'd love to hear.

Also to be included in the possible list:
1. schools that dont drug test (smoke weed every day, but lets keep that discussion to the thread in pre-allo)
2. schools that have ridiculously easy secondaries

Again, thank you so much guys, I really appreciate your input!
2.

You should probably have "higher end" safety schools - one of my friends had a 4.0 and a 41S he never got interviewed at Jefferson, Drexel or Temple
