So I am in the process of filling in AADSAS applications, and the course classification part is a bit confusing to me. And the instructions for the coursework page is not working.
So my question is -- how should I classify a math course that is under the Economics Department? I took a few of those in my undergraduate years, such as Statistics and Math for Economics... Should I classify them as Other-Science since they are math, or should I classify them as Non-Science? Thank you very much!

I had a stats course under psychology and they told me to classify it as non science!

Who told you to classify stats as non science? If you look at the 2015 ADEA Course Subjects list, it very clearly has "Statistics (Any Dept.)" listed under "Other Science."
You are right! My class title was something like " analysis of psychological data" but it was really just a stats class, I told them the title of the class and they just asked under what department it was and since it was psy they said non science... Do you think it could be other science?

Oh hmm, I think if it's called something other than clearly stats (so "psych stats"/"biostats"/"econ stats") it might have to go under non-science for practical purposes.

I have a class like the one you described...it's called something like "psych research methods and analyses" and it was all stats, but I listed it as non-science because there's really no easy way of proving that this was a statistics class to AADSAS and I figured they wouldn't be interested in having me prove it anyway. I assume that they are going to go off of course titles/departmental designation because if everyone was trying to get them to look at course listings or syllabi that would be too much for AADSAS to handle. I think that's why they told you to list it as non-science and like I said, I did the same for that class of mine.

Thank you all!! I just messages AADA on Facebook. Hopefully they will give me an answer....

Quick question: I just called AADSAS, they told me that my psych stats would be classified as other science, which is great!

I took a beginner neuroscience course called Brain and Behavior last year and asked them if it was a science class even though it was offered from the psych department; the dude on the phone said it would be classified as Biology... but I still feel unsure D:

What do you all think?
