How to dress in residency

I'll be starting an IM PGY1 position in brooklyn and was wondering what should my wardrobe consist of on a daily basis, scrubs, suit, or business casual?

Business casual when not wearing scrubs .... that's kinda the rule.....
Suits ..... whenever you wanna get fancy .....

Scrubs only in the OR or after hours on call.

You will need office business attire.

Invest in some Dansko's, you will save your feet, legs and back. They make them for men and women. Especially on medicine rounds in the hospital.

Eccos do a good job with the cushioning and don't look wretched like most Danskos. Also Danskos are awesome for standing in but not so great if your walking a lot.

Ask your fellow residents. They're the ones who know. Every place varies a bit, but usually the IM guys wear shirts and ties unless they're on call and it's after hours. When they're in the ICU though, they usually wear scrubs because of all the lines they put in.
