I wrote this as a reply to a previous thread with some minor changes made.
How to find a D.O. !!
Question? Have you yourself looked for any D.O.'s. Most D.O.'s you call out of the phonebook will be more than glad to help. I know because I have asked quite a few D.O.s that specific question. How about this, just go to the closest osteopathic medical to your home. If applicable obviously. Go to the admissions office possibly and ask them . They would be glad to lead you on the right path.
I will not give you my sources but I will tell you what I did.
1st - Go to the any Osteopathic medical school's website. Do the one closest to where you live.
2nd- Go to Dept. Webpages
3rd - Find any faculty members that have a practice or work in a hospital. This is the tedious part. Hopefully you can find a D.O. that has a faculty page and a picture of them. This may usually lead to the right place to look for their phone# or them.
4th - Look for closest D.O. to your home .
5th - Call that D.O. and ask him/her if you can shadow them.
