Hi,

So I am hoping to be accepted to UNLV program and noticed the wide difference in in-state and out of state costs and was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to get in state tuition after the first year. The office told me I would need to submit a form to find out which was not much help.

Hey Daniel, yes they will give you all of the information you need to get in-state tuition after the first year during orientation. You just need to meet certain requirements, all of which are easy to accomplish during your first year living here.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. You should come in under $100k for sure. If you were include tuition, fees, books, health insurance, etc. you should end up somewhere around $90k with one year of out-of-state tuition. The department chair of UNLV is also very aware of the rising cost of school and is working very hard to keep UNLV affordable and the program credit neutral to avoid the rising costs.

Additionally, the PT department and UNLV offer many scholarships that you will be applying for throughout the program and many students get them. So that reduces the cost quite a bit as well if you receive them. During your second year you can also apply to be a GA and those positions have a healthy stipend to go along with them. If you want an affordable PT program UNLV is a great place to be, the education and faculty are top-notch!
