Hi! I'm going to be an M2 and I am trying to get some research experience. I haven't done any research yet and was hoping to do something once a week during 2nd year. I have emailed some professors that I liked and asked if they have any research in the works, but so far I haven't found anything. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am interested mostly in clinical research. Is this a good time to do research or should I wait until 3rd year? Thanks!

Did your school assign you a clinical advisor? Mine had a few projects that I've been involved in.

You might also want to talk to some of the clinical departments. IM, GS are large departments that I would expect have general clinical research projects that span across specialities (i.e., how diabetes affects treatment X) and can get you started.

Or ask around and see who's published a lot lately.

At the once-a-week time commitment level, you're most likely only going to be collecting data.
