I was recently waitlisted at LECOM and hoping some past waitlisters could chime in with some insight on how to get off and get accepted. LECOM makes you send in a form to confirm your wait list spot, so along with that form I sent an updated sheet on my volunteer/research/work experience along with a letter of interest. I don't know if they'll even look at it or just see it and pitch it out. So anyone with some experience please help and let me know what's the best move once placed on the wait list! Thanks

Start with a letter of intent. I'm convinced that's what got me pulled off the waitlist. Make sure it really shows why in fact you want to go to LECOM (why you want their school AND why you'd be good for them). Most people claim to keep that to a page.

I'm not sure how LECOM works, but at other schools you can set up face to face or phone appointments with admissions directors. Speaking to them about what exactly you can do is always good and puts you on their radar.

After your letter of intent, continue to send updates. Don't bother them to the point of annoyance, but I was told by one director of admissions that monthly updates are probably the most beneficial (updated jobs, research, volunteering, shadowing, LORs, etc). Hope that helps! I hope you hear good news soon fellow Michigander! 🙂
