to make a long story short and not to get in trouble if i give out to much information... if that is possible? i just got summoned to testify in court for the prosicution against a lady who forged a script for lortab. at the time i was moonlighting as a traveling relief pharmacist. the incident occured at a pharmacy location 2 1/2 hours away from my home. this pharmacy put me up for the night in the hotel. the summons came to me as a total suprise. im supposed to testify in 7 days. i dont feel this is enough time to get things inorder. i work the next 10 days straight as my manager is out on vacation and i am kind enough to cover for him. to top it off im not the one who caught or turned this young lady in. im the one she 'admited' her guilt to. so i have to go.. i dont feel like i should have to drive 2 & 1/2 hours to go testify against this lady. its my gas, my time, my money that can be spent in better ways. plus i cant get time off. i feel like the prosecution is trying to strong arm me into testifying. they dont seem to be listening to my request. anybody have ideas?

Stop whinning. You make more money than most people for just a 40 hour a week job so don't complain about the driving distance, gas and your precious time. Do your duty and go to court.

If they are so set on getting your statement, perhaps they can take your videotaped deposition and play it in trial? Maybe at a location closer to you when you are off?

I would think you could just send them court a signed statement and that would suffice. If you have a lawyer or a friend who is a lawyer maybe you could ask them and get a better response than here on the forums.

Call the prosecuting attorney and explain your situation. A statement from you may be all they need.

The only way to keep these druggies from being repeat offenders is to prosecute. If you don't do your duty, they just get released to start doing it all over again.

Good luck and hope you make the best decision.

thanks guys i got out of it. it was just a prelim hearing. the 3 times i had to show up to court i never had to testify i just sit there all day while they plea bargin and collect my 15 dollar pay and go home.
