I just took one of the Crack Dat Pats full tests and got owned on there angle ranking. I got 11-15 on all the other sections but only got 5 of there angle rankings correct...I ended up with an 18 overall.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to improve this skill? I feel like there are fewer "tricks" to angle ranking and you just have to be good at it. Kaplans angle rankings are so much easier 15/15 on all those.

Thanks

My strategy is always to find the largest and smallest and then eliminate some answer choices. Usually you can eliminate 2 that way. Then to differentiate between the two in the middle, I try and look back and forth between them really quickly. I took my first crack yesterday and got a 10/15 on angle, which isn't great but I'm working on it.

I use the same preliminary strategy. With the angles that are left.....I look for sides that are parallel....then compare the the "rays" coming off the parallels. Sometimes this works, sometimes not. Also, if I have 2 left, I'll tip my chair back and try to look from further apart, and look quickly....sometimes that helps. Also, practice makes perfect. I have crack and have done the first 4 tests, and have scored anywhere from 9-15/15 on the angles......total scores 22,22,22,23 so far.

Man what I wouldnt do for a 22, all i get is 18 18 18 18 18 18....once got a 20 but never been able to reproduce it

It's weird because it takes alot to go up once you are in the 20's. If I recall on test 1 I got 81/90 questions correct, and that was a 22....according to CrackPAT. Also, I did a keyhole section once for practice......random.....but only the keyhole questions. Got a 15/15, but since it scored as 75questions unanswered the total score was a 10 haha.

Im using CrackPat also and first time i took it i got 13/15 but then the next time i got 7/15. it seems somewhat random i guess the best thing is to do what everyone has been saying look for the biggest and then the smallest and then the two remaining just kinda go back and forth. I find in some cases if you focus on the vertex it helps too.

Just keep doing them over and over and over and over again. You'll memorize the answers, of course, but you'll also be training your brain to discriminate between small differences in the angles. Do all of your angle practice questions ad nauseam, and then make some of your own using Google SketchUp or any program by which you can draw precise angles. And, my apologizes for not knowing how to spell
