Hi guys, I just want to know what is the possibility for someone to get in the 20s for PAT if that someone is pretty much hopeless at trying to manipulate 2D shapes into 3D ones?

If that someone is willing to put time, money, and effort into it, I'd say it's very possible. Practicing the CDP definitely made my PA score better than it would have been, even if it wasn't an amazing score.

It'll take a long time, I'd say 1-2 months to see a significant improvement, but yeah, why not? It's not something you're either born with or without. 🙂

I definitely recommend CDP. Practice does help a lot. Take one full-length of PAT each week and also practice on the sections that you are weak at. I am naturally good at PAT because I am able to visualize a 2-D image into 3-D and turn it around to a specific angle. This needs quite amount of concentration, especially for more complex shapes.

The best way to answer this question is for you to purchase some of the practice exams out there and see what you score in the PAT section. Also, try Crack Dat Pat (CDP). If you're scoring 20+, then you're most likely going to score 20+ on the real test. If not, then you're not going to magically evolve into a higher species during the exam and score a 20+. So, practice with these softwares and take the test when you think you've had enough practice and you're satisfied with the scores you see.

Thanks for your replies! Does CDP provide good explanations though? It says that it has 3D explanation but if they provide a 3D model, I think I will probably understand it BUT the problem is on the real DAT, there's not enough time for trying to draw out the 3D model on paper and then figuring out the answer. I was looking over the answer key for the PAT section from Kaplan book and I found them very vague. I am hoping if you can suggest any good study material that provides good strategies to tackle the question.

PS: Sorry i may have mentioned this in another thread as I didn't realize that they fall on similar topics!
