Hey everyone!

So I finished the gen Chem material about two weeks ago and I've realized that I forgot A LOT of the info...like A Lot! So I've been studying during the semester since January and I know there's a learning and forgetting curve but how can I make sure the info sticks until I take the test june 11?

Advice or suggestions? Thanks!

Gen Chem is mostly conceptual, if you learn the concepts and apply them regularly... You shouldn't forget it until your test date.

Chga is right. Gen chem is highly conceptual, as is organic. Keep pounding these concepts in your head everyday. Try to recall these when you're doing other things. Lets say youre in the car, try to remember the periodic table trends. Check yourself after the ride is over. As for the calculation portion of gen chem, there is no substitute for doing a bunch of problems.

Use course saver to review the material. Really take ur time when watching the videos, take detail notes and don't move on until you truly understand the material. If it takes you 1 hour to cover and understand a 20 minute video than great just do it. It's all about understanding the material which I think results in long term retention.Don't forget to do the quizzes right after the videos they are crucial to reinforcing the concepts in ur head. That has been my approach so far for content. I have one more week until I get to dig into DAT destroyer. Good luck

No DAT but in Gen Chem: Practice Practice Practice. Watching TV? Do a few problems. In the doctor's office? Do a few problems. I find just working through a few a day really help solidify the concepts and I can see why it works that way.
Also I agree with quizzing yourself over concepts over and over and over.
