Have you ever had a professor that curves the class grade, where 50% is a C? Well my professor does. Very unadaptable professor. Like i stated earlier, the class is doing so bad that a 50 is a C.

How do you guys cope when you're in this type of situation? 😕

1. Rock 75's on your exams.
2. Ride that curve to your A.
3. Profit

In my opinion those classes can be good grade wise
Last week i had a chemistry test and i think the average grade was like 60%....i got a 80% without the curve which turned into a like a 92% or something like with the curve, if you can get a class that theres a curve like that in, take full advantage of it!

The weird thing is that you need a 50 to pass and to get an A, you need a 90-100 and a B 80-89.9...WTF!!! I'm like how do you come up with these scales?!?!

Sounds like your teacher is a bell curve type of guy.

If your professor is good with statistics even a little bit, then this might be a good thing, and those grade cutoffs might change. Despite the common idea that 100-90 should be an A, and 89-80 a B, and so on, a test where the mean score is 50% of the total is a lot better at figuring out who knows the material and who doesn't. I had a professor who did something similar, and wrote all of his tests so that the mean would be a 50%, but then he curved it so that something like 20% of people got A's, maybe 30% got B's and 40% got C's (or something similar). This is actually a very effective way to give you the grade you deserve.

Now, I'm not saying this is necessarily the case with your class, but unless your professor has specifically said that the grade cutoffs won't change, I wouldn't rule it out.

same situation now. I figure, half the times the teachers lie and give you a better curve than they say they'll give, and then the other half your SOL.

Eitherway, it boils down to being at the top of the class. The top of the class gets the A, period. It's the same idea if you're being chased by a bear. Just run faster than the guy next to you, u feel me?
